Traveler Information Guide

    It is suggested that before traveling you get an "Exploring Israel" book from your local bookstore or library. Familiarize yourself with the geography, language,customs and currency. This information will be invaluable to you once you get to your destination.


  • WWP will not provide lunches. They can be purchased along the way.

  • WWP does not assume any responsibility for lost or stolen items.

  • Most of the places you visit do not have water fountains .Make sure you purchase water to take with you during the day.

  • Have your passport and money on your person at all times preferably in a zippered vest or pocket.

  • Please keep in mind that you are a fellow traveler with a group. Please be considerate of the comfort and well being of those you are traveling with.

  • Please be on time when the bus is scheduled to leave. If you are late you are taking precious time away from the tour.

  • All personal bills at the hotel (laundry, phone, etc.) are to be taken care of before checking out .If the bill has not been paid the entire group will have to wait until the bill is paid.

  • Please make plans to stay in the same hotel as your group. If you need to take off from the tour for any reason please make sure your tour leader and the WWP representative is notified beforehand.

  • If you purchase a video in Israel make sure the letters PAL are not on the package. This video will not play on an American video player.

  • It is suggested that you take between $300-$400 dollars with you in travelers checks. Make sure you keep the numbers of these checks stored in your carry on or suitcase.

  • You may want to take $50 in $1 bills and a few $5, $10, $20 bills to make small purchases. Please do not carry large sums of cash on your person. It would be a good idea to take a couple of checks in case of emergencies.

  • If a street vendor approaches you just ignore them and do not let them on the tour buses.

  • Credit cards are accepted at most businesses in the country of Israel. Remember the exchange rate changes daily and by the time your card is charged the purchase may be more or less on your monthly statement.

  • WWP will not be responsible for any purchase at any place that is recommended by any tour guide.

  • The United States Customs allows every traveler $400 in purchases duty free with the following restrictions;
      1. You must be abroad at least 48 hours.
      2. $400 is based on the fair market value of the country
      the item was purchased in.
      3. The $400 of exemptions will be covered if:
        a. They accompany the returning traveler
        b. Are acquire as an item on your trip
        c. Are for personal, household or gift purposes
        d. Are properly recorded with the Customs Service

  • Passports should be on your person at all times, preferably in a zippered pocket. Do not pack your passport in your suitcase.

  • Visas are not required to enter Israel.

  • Luggage: You can take two suitcases and one carry-on. The suitcases each weighing 60 pounds or less. Do not over pack your suitcase. Leave room to bring home your souvenirs. The hotels that you stay in will have laundry facilities.

  • Insurance: WWP does not provide traveler’s insurance. You may want to check with your tour leader as to where to go to purchase traveler’s insurance.

  • Health Insurance: Make sure you take your health insurance policy ID card in case of an emergency. If you need medical assistance please notify the front desk of your hotel. A doctor or an emergency medical person will be summoned to the hotel to give you medical attention. Please notify your WWP representative if you become ill and cannot travel that day.

  • Vaccinations: You do not need special vaccinations to travel to Israel at this time.

  • Special Needs: If you have any special needs please notify your WWP representative before travel. WWP will try to accommodate your requests.

  • Hotels: WWP travelers stay in first class, deluxe hotels or better. Please make plans to stay in the same hotel as your group.

  • Camera: There will be plenty of time to take pictures. Bring a good supply of film and pack the rolls in a clear zip lock baggie It is best to take a digital camera because they are smaller and you can take more pictures and not have to worry with roles of film.

  • Please be aware that in the old city of Jerusalem there are places where shorts and bare midriffs are not permitted. Please contact your tour leader for more information.
